Background:
Through new community outreach programs, Langston University will work to maintain and increase the number of high school students seeking higher education, along with work to stem the current dropout rates for high school students. Langston is also working directly to help solve the regional nursing shortage with an aim of graduating 1,200 nurses by the year 2023.
The new building includes space for administration, academic and community outreach programs fueling an expected doubling of enrollment and graduates. Langston University-Tulsa is projected to graduate 500 students annually over the next 20 years, and with college graduates making, on average, approximately $19,000 more annually than high school graduates, the economic impact is $190 million.
