Senior Tax RebateOn September 9, 2003, the Vision 2025 infrastructure package was approved by Tulsa County voters. The propositions authorized the levy and collection of a total sales tax of .60 percent on sales and services within Tulsa County commencing on January 1, 2004 and continuing to January 1, 2017.Structured within the Vision 2025 propositions is a provision for an annual tax rebate to certain qualifying residents of Tulsa County aged 65 or older. The Vision 2025 Senior Tax Rebate returns the estimated tax paid into Vision 2025 by senior households during the course of one calendar year. Additionally, Tulsa County residents may also apply for the rebate if a dependent person who is 65 years of age or older as of December 31 was a member of the applicant’s household for the entire year of January 1 – December 31. Applicants desiring to make a claim for a tax rebate must submit to Tulsa County a written application, on the official form provided by the County, between January 1 and March 31. The total amount of the annual rebate is $18.00 per household. For more information about rebate qualifying criteria, please visit the Tulsa County Treasures website. The application deadline for the 2009 Vision 2025 Senior Rebate was March 31, 2010.
