Project Description:

Downtown:

In September 2004, City of Bixby and the Bixby Telephone Company completed a downtown renovation project to demonstrate how Vision funds and the private sector could join together and revitalize all of Old Town Bixby. The Telephone Company renovated their facility with private funds, and the Vision 2025 funds were used for sidewalks, street lights and landscaping. Sample architect renderings were provided to merchants to encourage participation.

The Downtown Streetscape Project construction was completed in September 2006. It included curbing, pattern brick sidewalks, planters, light poles and fixtures for Christmas lights and other street improvements.

Neighborhoods:

The construction and installation of security camera improvements at Washington Irving Park, Charlie Young Park, and Bentley Sports Complex was completed in February 2007.

The purchase of right-of-way for a street widening project for 151st Street was completed in May 2007.

New “Welcome to Bixby” entrance signs have been installed around the City. The photo provided is the sign located at 171st and Mingo.

All Vision 2025 projects for Bixby Downtown and Neighborhoods are now complete.
