Zink Lake Shoreline Beautification

Allocation: $1,800,000.00
Status: In Progress

Summary Update:

The purpose of this project is to provide landscaping, shoreline beautification and riparian habitat improvement along both the east and west banks of the Arkansas River within the Zink Lake area.  The evaluation and engineering design of these project elements will be included in the design of the Zink Dam improvements. Landscaping and bank stabilization and re-vegetation will be part of the project design. No construction activities have occurred at this time.  Vision 2025 allocated $1.8 million for this project, and matching funds from various potential sources are being pursued.  The project allocation was increased in 2015 by the Vision Authority by $2,750,000 to $4.5 million for use by River Parks Authority in support of The Gathering Place project’s shoreline modifications. Local funding will be used to match anticipated state and federal funds to help with this effort.

This project will add to the scenic beauty and environmental functionality of one of Tulsa’s most noted physical assets. This beautification project is intended to improve the shoreline and attract private investment along the river.
