Haikey Creek Flood Prevention

Project Description:
The proposed Haikey Creek Project includes:
•A relief channel along Haikey Creek at the
129th E. Avenue Bridge and extending north of 131st Street to E. 128th Street South
•A west-bank levee on Haikey Creek ¼ mile south of 131st Street and ending ½ mile North of 131st Street
•A diversion channel to direct the “old” Fry No. 1 discharge into “old” Fry No. 2 Channel
•A floodplain relief channel to provide drainage for potential commercial development areas along 131st Street and along Mingo Road
•Upgrades to existing “old” Fry No. 2 Channel to convey the Diversion Channel flows and Floodplain Relief channel flows to the Arkansas River
