Langston-Tulsa
Allocation: $8,000,000.00
Summary Update:
Construction of the classroom building was complete in February 2009. The final project phase included a storage facility and a flag mall, completed in August 2013. Authorization for these additional expenditures were approved by Tulsa County.
Background:
Through new community outreach programs, Langston University will work to maintain and increase the number of high school students seeking higher education, and to stem the current dropout rates for high school students. Langston is also working directly to help solve the regional nursing shortage with an aim of graduating 1,200 nurses by the year 2023.
The new classroom building includes space for administration, academic and community outreach programs, fueling an expected doubling of enrollment and graduates. Langston University-Tulsa is projected to graduate 500 students annually over the next 20 years.
