Senior Tax Rebate

|

Project Description:

On September 9, 2003, the Vision 2025 infrastructure package was approved by Tulsa County voters. The propositions authorized the levy and collection of a total sales tax of .60 percent on sales and services within Tulsa County commencing on January 1, 2004, and continuing to January 1, 2017.

Structured within the Vision 2025 propositions was a provision for an annual tax rebate to certain qualifying residents of Tulsa County aged 65 or older. The Vision 2025 Senior Tax Rebate returned the estimated tax paid into Vision 2025 by senior households during the course of one calendar year. Additionally, Tulsa County residents were able to apply for the rebate if a dependent person who was 65 years of age or older as of December 31 was a member of the applicant’s household for the entire year of January 1 – December 31.

The total amount of the annual rebate was $18.00 per household.  The program was completed with the applications for 2016.
